I am expected to graduate from Towson University in May 2014 with a bachelor's degree in Business with a concentration in Marketing. Over the course of my educational career at Towson, I have been involved in a variety of on-campus activities and off- campus activities. I have had a part-time job, played sports and an internship while making sure to keep my grades above a 3.0 GPA.
As a freshman, I had a hard time managing my time, but as I developed effective study habits I learned to become extremely productive and meet each and every deadline that I was given. Throughout my educational experience, I have taken accounting I and II, finance, legal studies, numerous management and marketing courses that cover a range of global topics as well. These courses have taught me a great deal and have provided me with information that I can apply in my future endeavors. For the purpose of my portfolio, I will focus on my marketing courses. My international marketing class and marketing research class have completely expanded my knowledge, because they have taught me about numerous concepts that are applied all over the world. Furthermore, these courses have allowed me to carefully analyze the information that is presented to me so I can carefully determine what is effective and what is not.
As far as on-campus activities, I have held a position in my sorority, Alpha Phi, every year since I have joined. My sophomore year, I was responsible for being the formal chair. I was responsible for planning our formal event, where the sisters and their dates would gather and share a night filled with fun and entertainment. I reached out to numerous venues, caterers, transportation and entertainment companies in order to organize an unforgettable night. While holding this position, I learned the essence of organization, time management and communication. My junior year, I was appointed the position as the New Member Educator. I was responsible for gathering up useful information regarding our chapter and distributing it to the new members of Alpha Phi. Also, I partnered the new members up with sisters and planned fun activities in order to engage bonding experiences for everyone. Through this, I strengthened my communication skills, and learned how to work better with people and guide them in the direction that was most beneficial to our chapter.
Currently, I am a Marketing intern at Chef's Expressions catering company in Timonium, MD. Working here has allowed me to incorporate many of my previous experiences into my current position. I assist with organizing event planning and executing event BEO's, as well as help maintain an appropriate marketing budget. Furthermore, I help create marketing campaigns in order to promote the company and focus on client relationships through referral systems, advisory boards and corporate events. All of these tasks have helped to shape me into a more productive group leader, as well as gain more knowledge about the real life marketing industry.
On the side panel, you will find pages that will help you navigate through my portfolio more easily. I have listed my KSA's, previous completed projects and resume to demonstrate my skills and intricate knowledge in the business field.
